What sets us apart from other Autism Programs?

Why is our Autism Program different? Many parents of children with Autism or ADHD are feeling overwhelmed. Having been one of those Mums with 2 kids on the spectrum, I understand the frustration that comes with behaviour problems, fussy eating, limited speech, toileting issues, lack of focus, therapy appointments and endless paperwork. When traditional therapies didn’t work for my children, I decided to use my PhD in Molecular Pathology to approach things in a completely different way. I wondered if I could I get to the root cause of their issues by looking for Autism related genes and tailor a treatment at an individual level.

I was told by many it couldn’t be done… I went ahead and did it anyway…
I worked alongside IntellxxDNA for many years to help create the world’s first, largest, and only specialist 700 SNP neurodevelopmental related gene panel. I was also very curious about the makeup of the Autism microbiome and how it might differ from neurotypical. I headed a large research project with smartDNA in Australia, studying ASD and IBS guts resulting in a specialist Autism microbiome sequencing test.
After 12 years of autism research to help not only my own sons, but hundreds of other children on the spectrum, I’ve learned an important lesson, to get the maximum benefit, things need to be done in the right order.

I like to use the analogy of a burning house. There is no point trying to refurnish while it is still on fire. Children on the spectrum are in a state of inflammation, “on fire” which needs to be put out first. “Spectrum Detector” Microbiome Test
The “Gut Spectrum Detector” test is used to sequence the microbiome and look for the unique bacterial signatures associated with Autism. A plan involving probiotics, prebiotics and gut healing agents is tailored according to your child’s unique needs. The test gives us information about for:

We can help you teach your child to enjoy wholesome real foods rather than chicken nuggets, bread, chips, biscuits and ice cream (which is what most ASD children crave and adore). This is critical to the success of our integrated program involving diet, genetic and gut restoration.
We start by sorting out any biochemical imbalances that cause sensory defensiveness. While the body is readjusting, we play LOTS of food games appropriate to the age and cognitive capability of the child to make food fun. Around 6-8 weeks later we are ready to introduce real food to their plate, with big rewards, using a Paleo style diet modified to their needs.

GcMAF and Bravo Probiotic

Macrophages are an important part of our immune system from our white blood cells. They destroy harmful pathogens, help with gut regeneration and cell repair. Microglia are the macrophages of the central nervous system. They maintain healthy brain function and regenerate neuronal cells to help with cognition and speech. Individuals with ASD often have dysfunctional microglia and they need activating. Enter GcMAF which stands for “Group specific Component protein – Macrophage Activating Factor”. We use two different forms of GcMAF immunotherapy to help normalise macrophage function, Saisei Mirai GcMAF and Bravo probiotic.

1) Saisei Mirai produce a bioidentical GcMAF in a primed activated state, ready to normalise microglia function and fight pathogens without producing high levels of inflammation.
2) The molecules used by the immune system to naturally produce GcMAF in a neurotypical body is also produced by certain bacteria in “Bravo” probiotic during a fermentation process.
